The Line: Los Angeles Chargers -6 -- Over/Under: 46
Out at StubHub Center on Sunday, we’ve got Week 14 NFL activity coming our way between the Washington Redskins and the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Redskins come into this game at 5-7 overall. Washington is 1-3 in their last four games, falling to the Vikings, Saints and Cowboys in that time. During that Dallas game, Redskins QB Kirk Cousins put up 251 yards with two TDs and two INTs.
So far this year, Cousins has 3289 yards with 21 touchdowns and eight picks, and Samaje Perine is the top Redskins rusher with 465 yards and one TD. Leading the Redskins in receiving is Jamison Crowder with 628 yards and one score from 51 catches.
Over on the Chargers’ side, they’re sitting at 6-6 on the season. LA has won their last three games against Buffalo, Dallas and Cleveland. In that Browns game, Chargers QB Philip Rivers put up 344 yards and one TD.
Rivers has logged 3292 yards and 21 TDs with seven picks for the Chargers so far, and Melvin Gordon is the top rusher with 775 yards and five scores. Keenan Allen leads the way for LA in receiving on 1032 yards and five touchdowns.
The Redskins are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a straight-up loss and 8-3-3 ATS in their last 14 games in Week 14. The Redskins are also 5-2 ATS in their last seven games in November and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 road games.
Meanwhile, the Chargers are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games in Week 14 and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall. LA is also 2-5 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 7-20 ATS in their last 27 home games.
Before getting throttled 38-14 by Dallas, the Redskins had been staying in games at the very least, falling by eight to Minnesota and three to New Orleans. As for the Chargers, they’ve got four winnable games left on their schedule, including this one, and may well be able to eke into a playoff berth. I like LA to keep their run going and cover here.
