The Line: Los Angeles Rams -6.5 -- Over/Under: 40
The Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams meet late Sunday afternoon at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
The Seattle Seahawks look for a better showing after barely escaping the Miami Dolphins last week. Russell Wilson is completing 62.8 percent of his passes for 258 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Wilson has thrown at least one regular season touchdown in every game since December of 2014. Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse have combined for 149 receiving yards and one touchdown while Thomas Rawls has three receptions. The Seattle Seahawks ground game is averaging 112 yards per contest, and Christine Michael leads the way with 66 yards on 15 carries. Defensively, Seattle is allowing 10 points and 214 yards per game. K.J. Wright leads the Seahawks with 11 tackles, Michael Bennett has one sack and DeShawn Shead has two pass deflections.
The Los Angeles Rams have nowhere to go but up after getting shutout Monday night by the San Francisco 49ers. Case Keenum is completing 48.6 percent of his passes for 130 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions. Keenum has produced a combined 160 pass attempts since the 2015 season. Kenny Britt and Brian Quick have combined for 90 receiving yards on seven catches while Lance Kendricks has two receptions. The Los Angeles Rams ground game is averaging 65 yards per contest, and Todd Gurley leads the way with 47 yards on 17 carries. Defensively, Los Angeles is allowing 28 points and 320 yards per game. Alec Ogletree leads the Rams with 12 tackles, T.J. McDonald has four tackles for loss and Mark Barron has two pass deflections.
The Seahawks are 8-3 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Rams are 14-36-1 ATS in their last 51 games in September and 1-4 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The Seahawks are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings in Los Angeles.
Wilson remains questionable for this game with an ankle injury, but I'm not sure that matters. I'm not sure how the Rams are going to score a single point against Seattle's defense with Keenum at quarterback. I don't like to jump off the divingboard after one week, but he was awful against the 49ers.
I'll take the Seahawks by touchdown.
