The Miami Dolphins and the Dallas Cowboys face off on Saturday in Miami for a week 3 NFL preseason matchup.
The Miami Dolphins are hoping this is the year they return to the playoffs and being competitive week in and week out as it has been disappointing losses in winnable games that has been their undoing. QB Ryan Tannehill has plenty to prove if he wants to be the long term solution in Miami as he takes a lot of chances with mixed results. Lamar Miller is a breakaway threat at running back but Mike Gillislee is getting plenty of looks this preseason. Mike Wallace didn’t live up to the big contract last season and the Dolphins are hoping adding Jarvis Landry will open Wallace up but even so they still have the reliable Brian Hartline who seems to catch everything. Brandon Albert was a big get on the offensive line as Miami was unable to replace Jake Long last season. Defensively Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon bring the pass rush but the secondary will be tested often.
For the Dallas Cowboys it is time for Tony Romo to be the leader he is and lead the Cowboys back to the post season It has been disappointment after disappointment in Dallas but this season the NFC East is there for the taking. DeMarco Murray seems to get weaker as the game goes on but Lance Dunbar returns which should make the Cowboys better at running back. Dez Bryant is one of the best WR’s in football and Jason Witten is a constant. On defense DeMarcus Ware is gone nd Sean Lee anchors the middle while Kyle Wilber is a motor guy.
This game should be close and one where I see the hook coming into play as if Miami wins at all, a field goal seems to be a reasonable margin. I am taking the points with Dallas.
