The Line: New York Giants +4.5 -- Over/Under: 45
The Chicago Bears and New York Giants meet Sunday in NFL action at MetLife Stadium.
The Chicago Bears look to build on their five-game winning streak to keep their lead in the NFC North. The Chicago Bears have won three of their last four games. Mitchell Trubisky is completing 65.4 percent of his passes for 2,469 yards, 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Trubisky has two or more touchdown passes in five of his last seven games. Taylor Gabriel and Tarik Cohen have combined for 1,030 receiving yards and six touchdowns while Allen Robinson has 36 receptions. The Chicago Bears ground game is averaging 115.2 yards per contest, and Jordan Howard leads the way with 536 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Chicago is allowing 19.2 points and 316.1 yards per game. Roquan Smith leads the Chicago Bears with 81 tackles, Khalil Mack has eight sacks and Kyle Fuller has five interceptions.
The New York Giants look to play spoiler at this point after losing six of their last eight games. The New York Giants have lost four of their last five home games. Eli Manning is completing 69.1 percent of his passes for 3,093 yards, 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Manning has one or less touchdown passes in seven of his last 10 games. Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard have combined for 1,627 receiving yards and eight touchdowns while Saquon Barkley has 71 receptions. The New York Giants ground game is averaging 91.7 yards per contest, and Barkley leads the way with 829 yards and eight touchdowns. Defensively, New York is allowing 26.2 points and 377.8 yards per game. Landon Collins leads the New York Giants with 91 tackles, B.J. Hill has two sacks and Janoris Jenkins has two interceptions.
The Bears are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games in December, 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. NFC and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Giants are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games, 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. NFC and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Bears are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in New York. The under is 12-5 in Giants last 17 home games. The over is 6-2 in Bears last 8 games overall.
The Chicago Bears have had extra time to prepare for this game after playing on Thanksgiving, and they're allowing just 15.4 points per game during their five-game winning streak. The New York Giants are coming off a tough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, a game in which they controlled most of it, and they've been held to 18 or less points in four of their five home games this season. The Chicago Bears have covered seven of their last nine games when a favorite of at least three points. The New York Giants have covered five of their last six games when an underdog of at least three points. I honestly don't care if Mitchell Trubisky plays or not in this game. This contest comes down to the Bears front seven against the Giants shaky offensive line. It's a complete mismatch and one that's sure to get ugly for Big Blue. The Bears should win this game comfortably, regardless of who starts at quarterback.
