The New England Patriots and New York Giants end their preseason Thursday night at MetLife Stadium.
The New England Patriots look to finish the preseason with a perfect 4-0 record after beating the Carolina Panthers. In the 19-17 victory, Jacoby Brissett led the way with 85 passing yards and one touchdown. Brissett is sure to get even more reps in this game with the starters not playing. Chris Hogan and Aaron Dobson combined for 111 receiving yards and one touchdown while D.J. Foster had three receptions. The New England Patriots ground game averaged three yards per carry and Tyler Gaffney led the charge with 35 yards on nine carries. Defensively, Trey Flowers led the Patriots with six tackles, Jonathan Jones had one tackle for loss and Malcolm Butler had one pass deflection.
The New York Giants look to finish with a .500 record after beating the New York Jets. In the 21-20 victory, Ryan Nassib led the way with 69 passing yards and two touchdowns. Nassib is going to get even more reps in this game with Eli Manning expected to sit out. Tavarres King and Roger Lewis combined for 58 receiving yards and two touchdowns while Shane Vereen had two receptions. The New York Giants ground game averaged two yards per carry and Tavarres King led the charge with 20 yards and one carry Defensively, Damon Harrison led the Giants with seven tackles, Romeo Okwara had one sack and Andrew Adams had two pass deflections.
The Patriots are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Giants are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Thursday games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in September. The Patriots are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
There's a good chance the Pats are going to play their third string quarterback for much of this game with Jimmy Garoppolo preparing for week 1 of the regular season. The Giants looked good last week and are at home here. I'll take the small line and the Giants.
