The Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets square off Sunday morning in a week 5 NFL contest from Northumberland Development Project in London. The Jets are coming off their first win of the year, a close overtime affair versus the Titans. As for the Falcons, they played Washington last weekend. Atlanta fell by four points in that one. New York opened up their season against the Panthers on the road, ultimately falling 19-14 in a disappointing week one. The Jets had issues with their offense over the next two weeks, falling 25-6 to the Patriots and 26-0 to the Broncos to fall to 0-3.

The Jets were able to match the Titans blow for blow in their last outing, eventually prevailing 27-24 in overtime. QB Zach Wilson put up 297 yards with two TDs and a pick, while Michael Carter rushed for 38 yards and a score. Corey Davis was tops in receiving with 111 yards and a TD off four grabs.

Over on the Falcons’ side, they came out of the gate this year slowly as well, falling to the Eagles 32-6 then the Buccaneers 48-25. Atlanta finally got into the win column in week three versus the Giants, pulling out a 17-14 victory.

Atlanta played Washington last weekend and was unable to make it two wins in a row. The Falcons had an early lead but eventually fell 34-30. QB Matt Ryan put up 283 yards with four touchdowns, and Cordarelle Patterson hauled in five balls for 82 yards and three scores.

The Jets are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 in October and 2-7 ATS versus a team with a losing record. New York is 1-4 ATS in their last five overall as well.

Meanwhile, the Falcons are 8-3 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 on turf. Atlanta is 1-4 ATS in their last five overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with the Falcons. This will be a weird game for both teams however, seeing as how it’s in London. In any case, the Jets offense finally started showing up last week but realistically there’s not much to write home about yet. New York notched just 66 rushing yards and 16 first downs while giving up 430 total yards and 30 first downs on the other side. The Jets relied on opportunistic defense to get the win.

As for the Falcons, they faltered late against the Team but were otherwise competitive the whole game. I like Atlanta to bounce back enough to take out the Jets and cover here.
