The Line: Oakland Raiders +11 -- Over/Under: 48
The Oakland Raiders and the Denver Broncos face off on Sunday in Oakland in an AFC West battle in Week 10 NFL action.
The Oakland Raiders are still looking for their first win of the season and are looking right now like the worst overall team in the NFL. The Raiders offense has struggled at all angles averaging a 31st ranked 16.1 points and their 288.6 yards per game is dead last. Derek Carr has completed 60.7 percent of his passes with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions and he has been sacked eight times. Darren McFadden is the Raiders leading rusher with 358 yards and two touchdowns and he has 25 receptions and James Jones is Oakland’s leading receiver with 38 catches. The Raiders defense allows 26.4 points and 360.1 yards per game and they are minus 10 in turnover ratio. Miles Burris has 55 tackles, Sio Moore has 54 tackles, and Charles Woodson has 50 tackles and two interceptions. The Raiders appear to be a mess this season and are looking at a top pick in the NFL Draft.
The Denver Broncos are 6-2 and in first place in the AFC West but they are coming off of a one-sided road loss at New England last week. The Broncos offense is averaging 30.6 points and 407.6 yards per game and they have a plus three turnover ratio. Peyton manning had a rough week last week but for the season he has completed 67.3 percent of his passes with 24 touchdowns and five interceptions and e has been sacked nine times. Ronnie Hillman is Denver’s primary running back and he has rushed for 365 yards and three touchdowns and Emmanuel Sanders is the Broncos leading receiver with 57 catches and four touchdowns, Demaryius Thomas has 54 catches and six touchdowns, and Julius Thomas has 32 catches and 10 touchdowns. The Broncos defense is allowing 23.1 points and 325.6 yards and they are number one in the NFL against the run. Brandon Marshall has 62 tackles. Von Miller has nine sacks, and DeMarcus Ware has eight sacks. The Broncos will need to put last week behind them.
Oakland is 3-7-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 1-7 against the spread in their last eight home games, and 3-8 against the spread following a loss. Denver is 7-0 against the spread following a loss, 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, and 5-2 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread. Denver is 5-1 against the spread in their last six games in Oakland.
This is a big number but I expect the Broncos to put the hammer down on the over matched Raiders.
