The Line: Baltimore Ravens -14 -- Over/Under: 45.5
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens play Sunday afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have lost five of their last six games and will continue to tank in hopes of getting that top pick. Blake Bortles is completing 61.2 percent of his passes for 10 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Bortles has two touchdowns and two picks in his last three games, and the Jaguars have 37 passing plays of 20 or more yards. Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson have combined for more than 1,100 receiving yards and eight touchdowns while Marqise Lee has 11 of his 27 receptions in his last two games. The Jaguars ground game is averaging 4.2 yards per carry, as Denard Robinson leads the way with 582 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, the Jacksonville Jaguars are allowing 27.4 points, 377.2 yards, and they’ve forced 39 sacks and 17 turnovers. Johnathan Cyprien leads Jacksonville with 90 tackles and Sen'Derrick Marks has 8.5 sacks.
The Baltimore Ravens have won three of their last four games and are hoping to make their playoff push. Joe Flacco is completing 64 percent of his passes for 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Flacco has six total touchdowns and one pick in his last two games, and the Ravens 38 passing plays of 20 or more yards. Steve Smith and Torrey Smith have combined for close to 1,500 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns while Owen Daniels has eight receptions in his last four games. The Ravens ground game is averaging 4.7 yards per carry, as Justin Forsett leads the way with 1,080 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. Defensively, the Baltimore Ravens are allowing 19.6 points, 351.6 yards, and they’ve forced 37 sacks and 18 turnovers. C.J. Mosley leads Baltimore with 113 tackles and Elvis Dumervil has 16 sacks.
The Jaguars are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 9-23-2 ATS in their last 34 games overall. The Ravens are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games in December. The Jaguars are 1-3-2 ATS in their last 6 meetings in Baltimore and the home team is 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings.
The Baltimore Ravens have either lost or had the game decided by one score in four of their last six games. While Baltimore and Jacksonville are in completely different weight classes, I can never bring myself to lay a two-touchdown cushion in an NFL game. This is a ton of points to leave on the table and while I don't love the pick, the points seem to be the safer bet.
