The Line: Seattle Seahawks -15 -- Over/Under: 38
The Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks clash Thursday night in a NFC West NFL showdown at CenturyLink Field on NBC.
The Los Angeles Rams look to play spoiler despite losing eight of their last nine games. Three of the Los Angeles Rams’ four victories this season have come on the road. Jared Goff is completing 55.1 percent of his passes for 744 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions. Goff enters this game with 136 career pass attempts under his belt. Kenny Britt and Brian Quick have combined for 1,440 receiving yards and eight touchdowns while Tavon Austin has 51 receptions. The Los Angeles Rams ground game is averaging 81.1 yards per contest, and Todd Gurley leads the way with 740 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Los Angeles is allowing 23.4 points and 340.5 yards per game. Alec Ogletree leads the Los Angeles Rams with 117 tackles, Aaron Donald has seven sacks and Mark Barron has two interceptions.
The Seattle Seahawks look to look avoid back-to-back losses and keep their NFC West lead. The Seattle Seahawks have lost two straight games three times since the 2014 NFL season. Russell Wilson is completing 64.6 percent of his passes for 3,382 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Wilson has thrown eight interceptions in his last three games. Doug Baldwin and Jimmy Graham have combined for 1,663 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while Tyler Lockett has 32 receptions. The Seattle Seahawks ground game is averaging 104.2 yards per contest, and Christine Michael leads the way with 469 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, Seattle is allowing 17.8 points and 330.2 yards per game. Bobby Wagner leads the Seattle Seahawks with 139 tackles, Cliff Avril has 10 sacks and Richard Sherman has four interceptions.
The Rams are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Seahawks are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 Thursday games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games. The Rams are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 meetings in Seattle and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings overall.
I'm not laying this number given the Seahawks struggles with their offensive line, Wilson throwing eight picks in his last three games and the fact the Rams have won the last three games against Seattle. However, the Rams have zero offense, were just called out by their star running back and fired their head coach. This is a stay away from game in terms of the spread. If forced to pick, I'm siding with the over. This total is low even with both clubs being solid defensively. The Seahawks usually put points on the board when playing at home and the defense is going to set up good field position often. Seattle should get close to this total by itself.
