Seattle Seahawks -2.5 -- O/U: 33.5
The Oakland Raiders and the Seattle Seahawks meet up to close out their respective preseason schedules in week 4 NFL preseason action from CenturyLink Field on Thursday.
The Oakland Raiders will look to finish the preseason unbeaten after improving to 3-0 with a 22-21 win over Green Bay in their last outing. Nathan Peterman threw for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 23 of 37 passing while Mike Glennon threw for 38 yards on 4 of 9 passing. James Butler had 56 rushing yards to led the Raiders in that department while Keelan Doss had a team-high 52 receiving yards. De’Mornay Pierson-El had a team-high 6 receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown while Keith Smith had 4 grabs and a touchdown. Defensively, Nick Nelson had an interception and the Raiders combined for 3 sacks with Nicholas Morrow logging a sack and a team-high 5 tackles.
The Seattle Seahawks will look to finish the preseason above .500 after improving to 2-1 in the preseason with a 23-15 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in their last outing. Geno Smith threw for 117 yards on 11 of 18 passing while rushing for a touchdown as well and Russell Wilson threw for 73 yards on 6 of 9 passing while also rushing for 31 yards. C.J. Prosise led the Seahawks with 32 rushing yards and a touchdown while Rashaad Penny had a rushing score as well in the victory. John Ursua led the Seahawks with 52 receiving yards and Tyler Lockett was right behind with 50 yards while Jacob Hollister, the aforementioned Penny and J.D. McKissic each had a team-high 3 receptions. Defensively, Brandon Jackson had a sack while Ugo Amadi had a team-high 5 tackles in the victory.
Oakland is 9-19-2 ATS in their last 30 games overall and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games while the under is 7-3-1 in their last 11 road games. Seattle is 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 games overall and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 home games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games on turf. The home team is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.
The Raiders have had some solid outings in the preseason, but week 4 is usually where the starters see the most playing time, and I just don’t really trust a Raiders team that’s got Nathan Peterman under center if we’re being honest, even if they’re 3-0 in the preseason. Side-by-side, I think that the Seahawks have more talent and the greater depth and I just think home field tips the scales in their favor given Oakland’s struggles on the road, so I’ll lay the points with the Seahawks at home here.
