On Sunday the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face off against the Seattle Seahawks in a game between two teams at opposite ends of the NFC. The Buccaneers come into the game against the Seahawks after losing their last game to the Tennessee Titans by the score of 27-23. Quarterback Jameis Winston threw for 301 yards while completing 21 of 43 passes for 2 touchdowns but also threw 2 interceptions and 2 fumbles. Wide receiver Mike Evans continued his productive season while catching 11 passes for 198 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jameis Winston was also the team's leading rusher as he ran the ball 8 times for 53 yards. The Tampa Bay defense played extremely well giving up 246 yards on the day including allowing just 72 yards rushing from the Titans.
The Bucs are now 2-5 on the season, including a road record of 2-2. Tampa Bay continues yet another questionable season from quarterback Jameis Winston And fans have to start wondering if it's time for Tampa Bay to move on from their starting quarterback. On the year, Winston has thrown for 2,072 yards with 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Ronald Jones II has been Tampa Bay’s leading rusher and has carried the ball 74 times for 314 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wide receiver Chris Godwin has benefited most from Tampa Bay’s pass heavy offense and has 47 receptions for 705 yards and 6 touchdowns. On the year, the Bucs are averaging scoring 28 points per game, however, their defense is also giving up 30.3 points per game.
The Seahawks welcome the Buccaneers to Seattle after a road win against the Atlanta Falcons last week by the score of 27-20. Against the Falcons, quarterback Russell Wilson Completed 14 of 20 passing attempts for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns. Chris Carson was the team's leading rusher as he carried the ball 20 times for 90 yards and scoring a touchdown. It was just another day for wide receiver Tyler Lockett as he continues to be the most productive Seattle wide receiver as he caught 6 passes for 100 yards. Although Lockett led the team in receiving yards both of Russell Wilson's touchdown passes were caught by D.K. Metcalf Who caught a total of 3 passes for 13 yards. The Seattle defense struggled to stop Atlanta quarterback Matt Schaub who completed 39 of 52 passes for 460 yards, a touchdown and an interception In place of the injured Matt Ryan.
The Seattle Seahawks are 6-2 on the year, including a 2-2 record at home. On the year Wilson has thrown for 2,227 yards for 17 touchdowns and just 1 interception. Running back Chris Carson is also having a good season, rushing for a total of 659 yards, but has only found the endzone three times running the ball. Wilson’s favorite target on the year has been wide out Tyler Lockett who has 46 catches for 615 yards and 4 touchdowns. Seattle heads into their game scoring 26 points per game and allowing 24.5 points per game.
Although Seattle is .500 at home on the season, the Seahawks always benefits from the famous 12th man in their home stadium. The Seahawks will be facing a tough defense this weekend but I believe that they will be able to walk out of this Sunday's game with a win. Although Tampa Bay scores more points per game than Seattle, the Bucs can never be too very in the play of their quarterback Jameis Winston. In their last 5 games Seattle has won 4 of them while Tampa Bay has won just 1 game in their last 5. While Tampa Bay's defense may keep this game close Seattle can always count on a few mental mistakes from Winston and will be able to pull away. Seattle wins this game 35-24 and covers the spread.
