NFL | Dallas Cowboys (0-1) at Tennessee Titans (1-0)

The Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans play a week 2 matchup at LP Field.

The Dallas Cowboys were absolutely embarrassed by the San Francisco 49ers in week 1, 28-17. The Cowboys were a turnover machine in the loss, as Tony Romo threw three interceptions and DeMarco Murray fumbled the ball away. It’s also as if Romo forgot how to throw a football, as he was constantly throwing into double coverage and making dumb decisions with the football. About the only bright side for the Cowboys offensively is that Murray did rush for over 100 yards on only 22 carries. Defensively, the Dallas Cowboys actually played above average football, allowing 319 yards and holding the 49ers scoreless in the second half. Bruce Carter was the only Dallas player with a sack and Rolando McClain led the Cowboys with eight tackles.

The Tennessee Titans creamed the Kansas City Chiefs on the road, 26-10. Jake Locker was flawless with 266 yards and two touchdowns, while the Titans running game averaged a solid 4.3 yards per carry. Locker was sacked four times, which are numbers that have to improve moving forward, but the Titans surprised everybody by scoring a combined 20 points in the second and third quarter. The Titans finished the game with 405 yards and were a decent 7-16 on third down attempts. Defensively, the Tennessee Titans held the Chiefs to just 245 yards, including just 67 rushing yards. That includes just 1-12 on third down. Wesley Woodyard led the Titans with five solo tackles and a sack, while Jason McCourty had three tackles and two pass deflections.

I really try not to put too much stock into one week, which is why I’m backing the Cowboys in this one. The Titans aren’t as great as they showed in their opening game, and the Cowboys turned the ball over four times and were still hanging around late against a Super Bowl contender.

I really like the points here, as I think Dallas can win the game outright.
