The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tennessee Titans meet in week 3 NFL Preseason action from Nissan Stadium on Sunday night.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will look to add to their perfect start to the preseason, sitting at 2-0 after a 17-7 win over Kansas City last time out. Joshua Dobbs went 6 of 11 for 95 yards and an interception while Mason Rudolph threw for 77 yards and Devlin Hodges had a touchdown pass. James Conner rushed for a team-high 28 yards while Jaylen Samuels had 26 rushing yards and a touchdown. James Washington had 4 grabs for 78 yards to lead Pittsburgh while Diontae Johnson had 3 grabs for 46 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Bud Dupree had two of Pittsburgh’s three sacks while the Steelers forced three fumbles and recovered all three. Tyler Matakevich led the Steelers as well with 6 tackles in the victory.
The Tennessee Titans will look to rebound from their first loss of the preseason after a 22-17 loss to New England last time out. Ryan Tannehill went 7 of 11 passing for 84 yards and a touchdown while Marcus Mariota threw for 63 yards and a touchdown as well. Alex Barnes took his team-high 7 carries for 42 rushing yards while Cole Wick had 3 receptions for 42 yards. Delanie Walker and Jeremy McNichols each added a touchdown grab for the Titans as well in the defeat. Isaiah Mack had a sack and Logan Ryan recorded an interception while David Long Jr. led Tennessee with 5 tackles.
Pittsburgh is 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games against the AFC and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games on grass while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall. Tennessee is 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 home games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games against the AFC. The home team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetigns between these two teams.
The Steelers have gotten off to a strong start in the preseason, but both of those starts have come at home and the Steelers haven’t been overly easy to trust on the road. Tennessee has been good at home and the home team has had the bulk of the recent success between these two teams so I’ll lay the points with the Titans as I see Tennessee handing Pittsburgh their first loss of the preseason.
