NFL | Minnesota Vikings (7-9) at Tennessee Titans (2-14)

The Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans play a Thursday preseason game at LP Field.

The Minnesota Vikings are 4-0 in preseason play and are coming off a win over the Dallas Cowboys. Teddy Bridgewater taking this game off will give a lot of Vikings’ quarterbacks a chance to prove themselves, including Taylor Heinicke and Mike Kafka. Despite limited playing time, Shaun Hill will remain the Vikings backup QB. Joe Banyard and Dominique Williams each scored a touchdown last week. Rookie wide receiver Stefon Diggs has really shined and will see some serious regular season playing time due to his playmaking ability. Defensively, Gerald Hodges led Minnesota in its last game with four tackles, Andrew Sendejo had a pass deflection and Tom Johnson had a sack.

The Tennessee Titans are 1-2 in preseason play and are coming off a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota might not play at all in this game, which means we’re going to see a lot from backups Charlie Whitehurst and Zach Mettenberger. That duo completed five of 14 passes in the last contest. Dexter McCluster is coming off an impressive showing and could earn some solid playing time on a team desperate for playmakers. Tight end Chase Coffman is another offensive player looking to finally find a permanent team. Defensively, Coty Sensabaugh led Tennessee in its last game with five tackles, Perrish Cox had a pass deflection and Al Woods had a quarterback hit.

The Vikings are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games on grass and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Titans are 6-18-2 ATS in their last 26 home games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games. The Vikings are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.

The Minnesota Vikings haven't lost a preseason game yet and have gotten really good play from their backups. I have to go with Minnesota to get the rare sweep in the preseason based on what they've shown.

Minnesota Vikings +1
