Top Ten Fewest Points Allowed by NFL Defenses in 2014

USA TODAY Sports

We’re going to continue our look at significant defensive stats from last year today. I know, some of you are ready for something else, but this is important stuff. This afternoon’s top ten focuses on the NFL defenses that allowed the top ten fewest points last year.

1. The Seattle Seahawks’ D (no surprise here) leads-off today’s list with a mere 254 points allowed during the regular season.

2. The Kansas City Chiefs allowed 281 points to be scored during the 2014 NFL year.

3. The Detroit Lions are a close third today, with 282 points scored against them last season.

4. The Buffalo Bills allowed opposing offenses to score 289 points last year.

5. In 2014, the Arizona Cardinals’ defense let 299 points go on the board while they were on the field.

6. The Baltimore Ravens, whose D may not be what it once was, but is still pretty stalwart, take today’s No. 6 spot with 302 points scored.

7. The Houston Texans, thanks, as per usual, to the guy who wears No. 99, allowed just 307 points during the course of last season. Of course, that’s only helpful when your offense is actually doing something…

8. The New England Patriots, who went onto win Super Bowl XLIX, allowed 313 points during the 2014 season.

9. The Cleveland Browns, who really do have a solid defense (sorry I make fun of you all the time, Browns fans), saw 337 points scored when their D was on the field.

10. The San Francisco 49ers’ D allowed a grand total of 340 points to be scored on their watch in 2014.

On July 1, 2008 I typed into Google "How Do I start A Blog" and I started my first website called "Miami Mitch's Place" where i shared my college football Picks and predictions as well as opinion. By the Fall I had heard from many that the title made it sound like the site was about Miami so I changed it to "College Football Place" (cfbplace.com), After the 2008 college football season I change focus and launched CBBplace.com, it wasn't long after that when I realized I just wanted one place to add all sports, and that's when Sports Chat Place was born.

This site is a big Thank You to all of our readers, visitors, and community where we have been given a platform to talk to the masses about sports and hopefully help put you on some winners. If you need to reach me just shoot an email to [email protected]
