The Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys play a Saturday preseason game at AT&T Stadium.
The Minnesota Vikings are 3-0 in preseason play and a fresh off a win over the Oakland Raiders. Teddy Bridgewater has thrown 28 passes for one touchdown, and he’s sure to see the bulk of the reps in this matchup. Backups Shaun Hill and Mike Kafka have combined for four touchdowns and one interception. Jerick McKinnon has racked up 30 rushing yards and Charles Johnson is coming off a 40-yard receiving performance along with a touchdown. Defensively, the Vikings have racked up seven sacks and allowed a combined 10 second half points. Josh Thomas has eight tackles, Eric Kendricks has two tackles for loss and Justin Trattou has two pass deflections.
The Dallas Cowboys are 0-2 in the preseason and are coming off a loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Tony Romo has just one pass attempt, but should see a lot of reps in this matchup. Backups Jameill Showers and Brandon Weeden have combined for one touchdown and one interception. Gus Johnson has 59 rushing yards and a touchdown while Geoff Swaim is coming off a 57-yard performance on four catches. Defensively, the Cowboys have produced six sacks and have allowed 40 points. Keith Smith has seven tackles, Ben Gardner has three tackles for loss and Corey White has three pass deflections.
The Vikings are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Cowboys are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Vikings are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 meetings.
The Vikings have done nothing but win this preseason and it starts with backup QB depth that has made plays. The defense also hasn't been shabby. Not sure why anyone would turn down the free field goal here.
