The Line: Washington Redskins -8 -- Over/Under: 44
The New York Giants and Washington Redskins end the NFL regular season Sunday afternoon at FedEx Field.
The New York Giants look for their 11th victory of the season to head into the playoffs with some momentum. The New York Giants have lost four of their last six road games. Eli Manning is completing 63 percent of his passes for 3,847 yards, 26 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Manning has two or more touchdown passes in six of his last eight games. Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard have combined for 1,976 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns while Victor Cruz has 37 receptions. The New York Giants ground game is averaging 83.4 yards per contest, and Rashad Jennings leads the way with 541 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, New York is allowing 18.3 points and 343.4 yards per game. Landon Collins leads the New York Giants with 117 tackles, Jason Pierre-Paul has seven sacks and Janoris Jenkins has three interceptions.
The Washington Redskins look for their ninth victory of the season to remain in the playoff hunt. The Washington Redskins have won four of their last five home games. Kirk Cousins is completing 67.3 percent of his passes for 4,630 yards, 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Cousins has two or more touchdown passes in eight of his last 13 games. DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon have combined for 1,916 receiving yards and seven touchdowns while Jamison Crowder has 65 receptions. The Washington Redskins ground game is averaging 110.5 yards per contest, and Robert Kelley leads the way with 671 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, Washington is allowing 24.3 points and 380.9 yards per game. Mason Foster leads the Washington Redskins with 107 tackles, Trent Murphy has eight sacks and Bashaud Breeland has three interceptions.
The Giants are 4-1-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Redskins are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The Giants are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings and the under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings.
The last two games between the Redskins and Giants were decided by a combined eight points, which includes a two-point Washington victory earlier in the season. However, the Giants have nothing to play for in this contest with the No. 5 seed in the NFC wrapped up and there's no chance to move up or fall down. There's a good chance the Giants rest their starters for a a playoff game next week. Meanwhile, the Washington Redskins need this game in order to have a shot of clinching a playoff spot. This is a big number to lay, but I'll side with the Redskins by double digits at home against the Giants backups.
