The Blackhawks look to take a 2-1 series lead with a win tonight at the United Center while the Ducks look to shake off a tough triple overtime loss in game two.
The Anaheim Ducks lost their first game at home in these playoffs in game two thanks to an overtime garbage goal from Marcus Kruger who gave the Hawks a 1-1 split heading back to Chicago and now the Ducks are the ones who need to regroup as momentum shifts in favour of Chicago. The Ducks have been lights out at home as mentioned but they have been just as strong on the road as they won both games against the Jets in the first round and took one of two against the Flames before winning the series back on home ice but this is a different scenario as the Hawks are an incredibly good team and always play well in front of the masses at the United Center and they'll need to take the crowd out of the game early if they're going to retake the series lead.
The Blackhawks are in good shape heading home as they demonstrated a ton of resolve in the triple overtime victory and gave us one of the best contests of the entire season in the process and now they are back to business with a chance at taking a 2-1 series lead. The Hawks have been spectacular at home over the last handful of seasons and now with the series shifting in their favour and possessing home ice I expect they will turn things up a notch and really put the pressure on the Ducks who will have to find a way to contend with the depth of the Chicago roster. I like the Hawks at home to get it done and wouldn't be shy to pay the puck line.
