The Ducks look to get back in the win column after a loss in their last outing as they welcome the Flames to town on Tuesday night.
The Calgary Flames head into Anaheim on a two game winning streak and will look to keep it going against the Ducks as these two teams battle for positioning in the Pacific division. The Flames head into action tonight with an 8-12-1 record and have been one of the league's bigger disappointments but they are trending in the right direction and with a victory in this one they could jump ahead of Anaheim in the standings and move into fifth place. Calgary has a young team but some very skilled players at that and will need to be firing on all cylinders as Anaheim has turned their slow start around and is starting to look like the team that was favoured to win the Stanley Cup in the preseason.
The Ducks are 5-3-2 in their last 10 contests but thanks to a very slow start they remain three games under .500 and will need to make up some ground in a hurry if they want a shot at the division title. Anaheim is a very good team but need to find a way to start producing more in the offensive zone and give Frederik Andersen a bit of breathing room as the Ducks goaltender has been brilliant despite the losing record and deserves a better fate in the Anaheim crease. Anaheim will start Andersen while the Flames will counter with Karri Ramo and in a game that may be closer than people think I expect special teams to play a factor and in that capacity I lean towards Anaheim.
