The surging Anaheim Ducks have won six of seven after a three goal third period lifted the team to a 6-5 win at Washington on Sunday. Washington received goals from Nicklas Backstrom, Chandler Stephenson, Tom Wilson, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Nic Dowd. John Carlson and Dmitrij Jaskin gave the Capitals two assists each and Braden Holtby gave up six goals on 29 shots to get the loss.
Pontus Aberg led the Ducks offensive fireworks with a pair of third period goals, with Ryan Getzlaf, Andrew Cogliano, Rickard Rakell and Hampus Lindholm also joining the scoring column. Getzlaf and Ondrej Kase also posted two helpers each with John Gibson giving up three goals on 15 shots before Ryan Miller stopped 19-21 in relief to pick up the win for Anaheim.
