Colorado Avalanche at Anaheim Ducks

Anaheim Ducks -105 / Colorado Avalanche -116 -- O/U: 5.5
The Colorado Avalanche and the Anaheim Ducks meet in NHL action from the Honda Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Colorado Avalanche will look to rebound after a 4-3 loss to San Jose in their last outing. San Jose jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with the lone goal of the first period before doubling their lead in the early stages of the 2nd period. Nikita Zadorov pulled a goal back just 2:20 later to make it 2-1, but San Jose would restore the two-goal cushion in the last minute of the 2nd frame. Mikko Rantanen pulled one back just after the midway point of the 3rd before San Jose responded just 2:21 later and Colorado answered :48 after that to make it 4-3. That’s as close as the Avs would get though, as San Jose would hold on the rest of the way to secure the victory. Semyon Varlamov took the loss, falling to 18-16-9 after allowing all 4 goals on 40 shots faced in the losing effort.
The Anaheim Ducks will be out to snap a 5-game losing streak after a 3-0 loss to Vegas in their last outing. The Golden Knights waited until the latter stages of each period to score, with William Karlsson scoring in the 1st, Alex Tuch in the 2nd and Cody Eakin on an empty net in the 3rd period to seal Anaheim’s fate in the losing effort as none of the Ducks’ 34 shots on goal found the back of the net. John Gibson took the loss, falling to 17-20-8 after allowing 2 goals on 33 shots faced in the losing effort.
Colorado is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall and 5-1 in their last 6 games against the Western Conference while the over is 13-5 in their last 18 road games. Anaheim is 0-5 in their last 5 games overall and 2-10 in their last 12 home games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record. Colorado is 13-27 in the last 40 meetings between these two teams and 8-20 in the last 28 meetings between these two teams in Anaheim.
It's no secret that the Ducks have had the bulk of the success here, but a lot of that success came when the Ducks weren’t the dumpster fire that they’ve been lately. Anaheim is mired in yet another losing streak and this is still a team that’s won just 5 games over the last two-plus months. Colorado fell to San Jose but the Avs have still been playing better hockey between the two sides, so getting a cheap price to fade Anaheim sounds good to me. Give me Colorado on the road in this one.
