The Colorado Avalanche go on the road to face the Anaheim Ducks in a Sunday NHL matchup.

The Colorado Avalanche are battling for the postseason and need every point they can find to ward off the St. Louis Blues. Colorado picked up two points with a dominant 5-0 rout of Chicago where Blackhawks backup goalie Collin Delia allowed five goals on 36 shots.

The Avalanche received a pair of goals from Sven Andrighetto with Tyson Barrie, Mikko Rantanen and Tyson Jost also finding the back of the net. Barrie completed a three point night with a pair of helpers and Semyon Varlamov stopped 33 shots to get the win for the Avs.

The last week of the regular season finds the Anaheim Ducks fighting for playoff position. Anaheim is looking for the Wild Card after squeezing by Pacific rival Los Angeles 2-1 in overtime on Friday.

The Kings took a 1-0 lead on a Drew Doughty marker in the first with Nick Ritchie scoring the equalizer in the second. Rickard Rakell scored with 19 seconds remaining in OT to make a winner of John Gibson and his 28 stops while Jonathan Quick made 31 saves in defeat.

Under is 4-0 in Avalanche last 4 overall and under is 4-0 in Avalanche last 4 games playing on 1 days rest and under is 2-0-2 in Avalanche last 4 road games. Over is 4-0 in Ducks last 4 Sunday games and Ducks are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. Central and Ducks are 7-0 in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. Home team is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and under is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings and Avalanche are 7-19 in the last 26 meetings in Anaheim.

Both teams need points and are desperate so perhaps something on the Ducks for an interest…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
