The Ducks loo to take advantage of a tired Blue Jackets squad when the teams meet up in Anaheim on Friday night.
The Blue Jackets play their second West coast game in as many nights on Friday as they travel from San jose to Anaheim to take on the Ducks at the Honda Center. Columbus has been a playoff team in each of the last two seasons and are starting to gain more recognition as a contender in the Eastern Conference and while it may be another year or so before they put the pieces together to jump into discussion of the league's elite I think they are on their way to doing so. With that being said though they have split their first six games this season and haven't looked as strong as many had thought especially considering one of their victories came against the lowly Buffalo Sabres. At the time of writing they find themselves down two goals in San Jose and in that building it is safe to say they won't be getting the two points and now having to play the Ducks in Anaheim it doesn't get much easier.
The Ducks are one of the Cup favourites this season and with the way they played last year and how much they battled in the postseason it is easy to see why they are among the league's best teams. They do play the ridiculously tough and competitive Pacific division which is one downfall as they have to battle with Vancouver, LA, and San Jose for playoff positioning and with the Oilers coming along and the Flames surprising people it could be a much more difficult path than last year's cakewalk. Anaheim is riding with Frederik Andersen in goal and he has been brilliant this season and while you would take him against a large portion of goalies in the league it is almost a certainty against Curtis McIllhenny. The Jackets backup net minder is solid but never seems to get the support in front of him as his GAA is well over four and against a high powered Ducks team that doesn't look good.
