The Wild look to snap out of their ugly four game losing skid as they head into Anaheim to battle a Ducks side that is coming off a loss but is 6-3-1 in their last 10 overall.
The Minnesota Wild have picked a very inopportune time to go on a losing skid as their four game slide has dropped them out of the top three in the Central division as they sit nine points back of the St. Louis Blues for third place and will have a tough time making those points up. The Wild are a good team that has plenty of weapons primed for a deep playoff push but they need to right the ship in a hurry as the Central is very competitive and has two of the league’s very best with Chicago and Dallas playing very well this season. Minny is is a modest 8-7-6 on the road this season while the Ducks are 13-8-4 at home.
The Ducks have started to turn a corner and thanks to a very weak Pacific division outside of the Los Angeles Kings they are still in the mix for a playoff spot as they are just four points out of second place. Anaheim still needs to rectify their woeful offense as they have a league low 88 goals scored through 44 contest but their goaltending has been a saving grace and if they can get into the postseason they stand a very good shot at pushing the Kings to the brink. Anaheim is getting a good price here and while Minnesota’s losing has to end soon I just don’t see it being on the road against an improving Ducks side.
