The Ducks return home looking for their second win in as many nights as they take on a Canadiens side looking to avenge a loss to the Sharks in their last outing.
The Montreal Canadiens suffered a rare road loss on Monday night as they were trounced by the San Jose Sharks and will go back to the drawing board here as they take on the league leading Anaheim Ducks. Miontreal remains atop the Atlantic division and the Eastern Conference heading into tonight's game in what some are calling a Stanley Cup preview and it is hard to question that logic as both teams have been very successful since day one and with the additions of key pieces at the trade deadline it only adds further intrigue to how these teams will play down the stretch. The Canadiens will go back with Carey Price who will match up against John Gibson with the Ducks in a back to back.
Anaheim demonstrated once again last night that they are one of the best teams in the league and while it was against the lowly Coyotes it was certainly a look ahead spot with this game on the docket and they did a great job avoiding the let down. The Ducks made one of the biggest moves of trade deadline day by bringing back James Wiesnewski who adds a great dimension to their blue line but the Habs added Jeff Petry who is an inexpensive rental player who is solid at the point and could do just as much for his side as Wiesnewski. This should be a great game but with the Ducks in a back to back and Montreal coming off a sloppy effort I think they bounce back and get a nice road win.
