The Ducks look to play out of their terrible start to the season as they host the Nashville Predators at the Honda Center on Sunday.
The Nashville Predators are off to a very impressive 7-1-2 start this season and sit in third place in the Central division and as the season goes along we will see more and more just how good this team is and why they are considered to be a threat to win the Stanley Cup. The Preds have a ton of talent on the blue line and that resonates moving forward as they have some nice offensive depth that with another piece or two could be unstoppable, all of which is playing in front of one of the best goalies in the NHL. The Preds will look to extend Anaheim's losing ways in a pivotal show down on Sunday in what many considered to be a possible Western Conference final preview in the preseason.
The Ducks have looked very bad so far this year as they are just 1-7-2 in their first 10 contests and have but 10 goals to their name heading into Sunday. Anaheim was supposed to be a run and gun team that can score with the league's best but so far they have run dry in the offensive zone and left Frederik Andersen out to dry in the defensive zone. Anaheim needs to fix this in a hurry and unfortunately it may end up costing Bruce Boudreau his job and while it hardly seems fair considering this is not his fault at all, the ax has to fall on someone and right now it looks like Boudreau could be the next coach to go if the Ducks continue to sputter. This is very tough as the Preds are playing the better hockey but Anaheim is still a very good team and this is the exact circumstance in which they got their first win of the year – at home, on a Sunday, against a very good defensive team. I am siding with that again here.
