The Line: Anaheim Ducks -165 / New Jersey Devils +149 --- Over/Under: 5.5
NHL action comes to the Honda Center where the Anaheim Ducks welcome the New Jersey Devils to town.
The New Jersey Devils have played well this week with wins in four of five following a 3-0 victory versus the Los Angele but the defense ears Kings on Saturday. New Jersey has score 20 times in those four wins but the defense earned high praise at the Kings.
Michael Grabner gave the Devils the only goal they would need at 8:29 with Nico Hischier doubling the advantage at 13:27. Miles Wood found the back of the net at 6:06 of the third before the Devils turned the game over to Keith Kinkaid who recorded 38 saves. Jonathan Quick absorbed the loss for the Kings with 25 stops.
The Anaheim Duck have been in a win a few, lose a few mode for a month and need to change that trend. Anaheim has won back to back contests following a 4-2 win versus Detroit where Mike Green and Gustav Nyquist scored for the Red Wings with Jimmy Howard allowing four goals on 36 shots.
The balanced Ducks offense saw scoring from Nick Ritchie, Derek Grant, Corey Perry and Ryan Kesler. Jacob Silfverberg gave Anaheim a pair of helpers and John Gibson improved to 27-17-6 with a 28 save performance.
Devils are 2-10 in their last 12 Sunday games and under is 5-1-1 in Devils last 7 vs. Western Conference and under is 5-1 in Devils last 6 road games. Under is 5-0 in Ducks last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and Ducks are 6-0 in their last 6 vs. Metropolitan and Ducks are 8-1 in their last 9 games playing on 1 days rest. Over is 3-0-1 in the last 4 meetings in Anaheim and home team is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and Devils are 2-8-1 in the last 11 meetings in Anaheim.
I’m likely sitting this one out but if were playing this it would be Anaheim for a small stake…
