West coast NHL action features the Anaheim Ducks hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday.

The red hot Pittsburgh Penguins have won nine of ten after blasting visiting Florida 5-1 on Tuesday. Aleksandar Barkov scored in the second period for the Panthers with Roberto Luongo allowing four goals on 16 shots to get the loss before James Reimer stopped 14-15 shots in relief.

Bryan Rust paced Pittsburgh with a pair of markers with Tanner Pearson, Riley Sheahan and Sidney Crosby also lighting the lamp. Marcus Pettersen added two assists for the Penguins who received 36 saves from Matt Murray.

The slumping Anaheim Ducks are mired in a nine game slide following a 2-1 OT loss to visiting Ottawa on Wednesday. Anaheim took a 1-0 lead in the first on a Jacob Silfverberg tally but the offence couldn’t score again. John Gibson recorded 28 saves for the Ducks and fell to 15-13-7.

Bobby Ryan scored the equalizer for the Senators at 9:23 of the third with Colin White netting the winner at 1:34 of overtime. Anders Nilsson picked up the win for Ottawa with 32 stops to improve to 4-10-1.

Penguins are 5-0 in their last 5 road games and Penguins are 4-0 in their last 4 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game and Penguins are 9-1 in their last 10 overall. Ducks are 0-9 in their last 9 overall and Ducks are 0-5 in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference and under is 4-0 in Ducks last 4 home games. Over is 3-1-2 in the last 6 meetings.

Anaheim won’t lose forever but I think you back Pittsburgh or walk away…

Pick:
Pittsburgh -140

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
