The Line: Anaheim Ducks +110 / San Jose Sharks -121 --- Over/Under: 5.5
West coast NHL action pits the Anaheim Ducks against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday.
The San Jose Sharks saw their three game winning streak come to an end in a 4-3 SO loss at Carolina on Friday. San Jose received their scoring from Antti Suomela, Timo Meier and Tomas Hertl with Aaron Dell falling to 1-0-2 with three goals allowed on 41 shots.
The Hurricanes lit the lamp three times in the second with Dougie Hamilton, Brock McGinn and Teuvo Teravainen scoring. Teravainen also gave Carolina an assist with McGinn scoring the only goal of the SO to lift Petr Mrazek and his 20 stops to the win.
The Anaheim Ducks are in an early season funk that has seen the team drop four in a row after a 5-2 loss at Dallas on Thursday. The Ducks received a pair of goals from Ryan Getzlaf with John Gibson absorbing the loss with five goals allowed on 41 shots.
Jason Dickinson topped the Dallas offense with a pair of tallies with Roman Polak, Miro Heskanen and Mattias Janmark all reaching the scoring column. Ben Bishop earned the win for Dallas with a 23 save performance.
Under is 4-0 in Sharks last 4 games playing on 1 days rest and Sharks are 0-4 in their last 4 Sunday games and over is 10-3 in Sharks last 13 vs. a team with a losing record. Ducks are 0-5 in their last 5 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and Ducks are 0-4 in their last 4 overall and Ducks are 1-5 in their last 6 vs. Western Conference. Sharks are 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in Anaheim and under is 6-1-4 in the last 11 meetings in Anaheim and Sharks are 6-1 in the last 7 meetings.
The Ducks are better then their record but I’m hoping their slide continues another day…
