The Bolts look to shake off their two game slide and get back in the mix in the Atlantic while the Ducks are coming off a win and aim to inch closer tot he .500 mark.
The Lightning head into Anaheim on Wednesday looking to snap a two game losing skid and jump back above the .500 mark but going up against a Ducks to who has also been considered a massive disappointment this season they know it'll be a tough contest. Tampa was projected by many to repeat as Eastern Conference champions this season and now they will be hard pressed to even qualify for the playoffs as they have been very mediocre this season and don't seem to have an answer to their early season woes. Tampa is likely to turn to Ben Bishop here as he will look to turn his season around as the Ducks will likely counter with John Gibson while Frederik Andersen continues to rehab from injury.
The Ducks haven't looked good since the onset of the NHL season and for a team that was supposed to be considered Cup favourites they have to be one of the league's biggest disappointments. This match up tonight was a trendy Cup final prediction from a lot of arm chair general managers but though the first quarter plus of the season they are a combined 20-22-8 and are 22 points behind their respective division leaders. The Ducks have shown signs of life at home while the Bolts are 5-6-2 on the road and while Tampa may have a bit more on the back end I do think Anaheim's offense will be the difference here in a game I likely won't touch.
