The Canucks look to add another win to their resume to start the season as they earned three out of four points against the Flames int heir home and home session but head into Anaheim to face the Ducks.
The Vancouver Canucks are in the midst of a youth movement despite the core of their team still centered around the Sedin's but with the likes of Bo Horvat, Jake Virtanen, and Brandon Sutter a part of the team's long term plans it is clear they are moving forward with the future in mind. The Canucks aren't really expected to contend for a Cup this season but they could very well surprise a lot of people despite playing in a very competitive Pacific division as they have a winning pedigree in place. Vancouver heads south to play a Ducks team who lost their season opener to the Sharks on Saturday but still retains a Cup favourite label and will likely hold on to that all season based on their recent success in the regular season.
The Ducks head into their second game of the season with optimism despite a season opening loss to San Jose as they have one of the best rosters in the NHL led of course by Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, and long time former Canucks forward Ryan Kesler. This group claimed the Pacific division title last season and lost in the Western Conference semi-finals to the Chicago Blackhawks who ultimately went on to win the Stanley Cup and it could be said that a bounce in their favour could have led Anaheim and not Chicago into the finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Anaheim is going to win a lot of games this season and are going to win a lot of games at home and this is why we have a bit of a chalky line but if you take the home side in regulation it becomes much more attractive and I don't see this one being close.
