The Jets look to stave off elimination and finally close out a game as they host the Anaheim Ducks at the MTS Centre for game four.
The Anaheim Ducks haven't led for long in much of their series against the Winnipeg Jets and trailed going into the third period in each of the first three games yet they have a commanding 3-0 series lead after an overtime win in game's three win on Monday. The Ducks scored a late third period goal off the stick of Ryan Kesler and than Rickard Rakell netted the overtime winner to shatter the hearts of Winnipeg fans in attendance who gave their team all of the energy they could handle. Now, the Ducks can be the first team to advance to the second round with a win here but they know getting that fourth one is the toughest and coming in a building like the MTS Centre won't be easy and they'll have to play much better to get it. Frederik Andersen continues to anchor the Anaheim goal and he will likely be countered by Ondrej Pavelec.
The Winnipeg Jets have to be shooting themselves in the foot after yet another blown lead that led to a heartbreaking loss and now they are one botched period away from bowing out of the playoffs in the first round. The Jets have been able to generate plenty of offense so far but it has been their blue line – usually a source of comfort – that has been their downfall in this series and if they're going to stay afloat they have to do a much better job in the defensive third. The Jets will have a ton of energy from the crowd once again and they need to find a way to harness it on the ice and not allow the Ducks back into it once they have established a lead and while I am not overly confident they will be able to do it based on their performance so far in the series they have been incredibly unlucky to lose all three so far and I think at least for one game the bounces will go their way.
