The Bruins look desperately for a victory as they wrap up their West coast trip in Arizona on Saturday after suffering three straight losses in California.
The Bruins are in a tough spot right now after dropping 6 of their last 10 contests and are quickly sliding down the ladder in the Atlantic division as they currently sit in fifth place but have played two more games than most others. The B's have been sliding ever since losing their captain as Zdeno Chara's presence at the back end surely plays a huge role in the team's success and I think Boston is starting to feel not only his absence but that of some of their others players from last season who left via free agency. The Bruins do have Tuukka Rask though and he is a game changer in the crease when he is on and after a couple of shaky outings in California the Bruins know they need to give their goaltender some better support and that could start here in the desert against the Coyotes.
Arizona has dropped back to back games and have lost 7 of 10 as they battle with the Oilers for the bottom spot in the division and I think it'll be tough for this team to right the ship this season unless they can find a steady source of offense. The Coyotes have been a tricky team over the last three or four years as they always seemed to find a way to get things done even when expectations were low or non-existent but now that people expect them to be in the postseason they have fallen short and to me are one of the worst teams in the league. They do have a goaltender in Mike Smith who has shown he can steal games and they do have a nice blue line as Oliver Ekmann-Larsson and Keith Yandle are both great but offensively they are stagnant and will struggle to compete long term. While I wish we could have gotten the Bruins are a better price I am not scoffing at the line and will take them here in a border line must win game.
