The Kings look to shake off a two game losing skid as they head into the desert to battle the Coyotes on Saturday night.
The LA Kings look to build on their Pacific division lead with a road win in Glendale on Saturday night as they face off against a surprising Coyotes team that has gone from league doormat to one that could very well take advantage of a weak division and land a playoff spot. The Kings head into tonight as the class of the Pacific as they hold six point lead over the second place Sharks and have a game in hand which could serve them well down the road but as they focus on tonight they will look to win their 10th game on the road at the expense of the Coyotes. Jonathan Quick is expected to get the nod as he will go up against Louis Domingue.
The Coyotes sit in fourth place in the Pacific division with 34 points in 33 games and while that may not be overly impressive to the casual hockey fan it is miles ahead of where many expected them to be this season. The Coyotes do have a long road ahead as they have a ton of youngsters on the team that are being leaned on to carry the bulk of the offensive load but they have shown they are capable of producing as Max Domi and Anthony Duclair have been great. However, the Kings are the better team and I expect them to start the post-Christmas stretch with a victory.
