The Coyotes return home after a trip to Anaheim last night as they host the Wild in the desert.
The Wild head into the desert looking for their third win of the season in as many tries and against a Coyotes team that has already exceeded expectations they will have to take this game a little more seriously. Minnesota is a Cup contender in the Western Conference and will have plenty of pressure on them to finally break through as one of the league's elite but with the pieces they have in place they are more than capable of doing so. Minny is known more so as a rabid home team and more susceptible on the road but they are out to change that this season and a team that is considered to be great can beat you any night of the week, home or away.
The Coyotes are the surprise team of the early NHL season as they won their first three games of the season and are on pace to upend the Ducks at the time of writing and they can continue their hot start with a win against the Wild on Thursday. Arizona is a young team that will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come on the horizon but they were expected to among the league's worst again this season and land another top end pick to throw in the fold. However, their quick start has those plans on hold and while they are unlikely to sustain this torrid pace they are going to ride it for now and hopefully we can get some better value on Arizona's opponents as the odds makers still aren't biting. The Coyotes story is nice for now but I think it ends tonight as Minnesota gets a win and stays undefeated.
