The Canadiens look to get back in the win column after losing their last time out as they head into the desert to face off with the Coyotes.
The Montreal Canadiens had been the talk of the league for the first portion of the season but they have since gone on a terrible skid that has them out of the playoffs at the moment and they will be in tough to work their way back in with less than 30 games to go. The Habs are without Carey Price and speculation at the moment has him out for the remainder of the season and for Montreal that may be the best thing for them as they have already suffered the consequences of trying to bring him back too early. The Habs aren’t a great team overall with or without Price and the tandem of Ben Scrivens and Mike Condon will be leaned on to carry out the duties for the time being but neither matches up well in this spot against the Coyotes.
Arizona has quietly put together a very successful season and for a group that was expected to finish in the running for a lottery pick they have well exceeded expectation and should challenge for a playoff berth. The Coyotes are young but very talented and Louis Domingue has been brilliant in the crease for them since taking over as the team’s number one and with 27 games to go they are just six points out of a playoff spot. They have hit a speed bump of late but I do think they have enough in the tank in this spot against a struggling Habs side and they seem to play better at home which is where they find themselves tonight.
