The Arizona Coyotes look to stay red hot as they welcome the Ottawa Senators to the desert for an inter conference show down on Tuesday night.
The Senators look to pull off the road upset as they head into Glendale on Tuesday night to take on the surging Arizona Coyotes and the Sens find themselves as huge dogs in this spot. Ottawa has been decent to start the season but they are just 2-12 in their last 14 Tuesday games and have not played well against Pacific division foes over the years but they will look to exploit a Coyotes team that doesn’t play well when they are rested. Ottawa is expected to send Craig Anderson to the crease as he will face off against Antti Raanta who is having a spectacular start to the season in the Arizona crease.
The Coyotes meanwhile have some strong trends working in their favour here as they are 6-1 in their last 7 after scoring five or more in their previous game and catch a Sens group that doesn’t have a ton of fire power offensively. Arizona has ridden the play of their defense and goaltending thus far but if they’re going to be taken seriously as a potential playoff team in the Western Conference they’ll have to find a source of scoring that can consistently be leaned on in crunch time. Arizona has gone under in 9 of their last 11 and in 4 of their last 5 home games and with the way their goalie has been playing it wouldn’t be a surprise to see that happen again here.
The Sens are 15-37 in their last 52 road games and 2-5 in their last 7 against the West while the Coyotes are 4-1 in their last 5 overall and 11-28 in their last 39 playing on two day’s rest. This game should be low scoring as both teams have issues offensively and this one finishes well under the number.
