The Line: Arizona Coyotes -125 / St. Louis Blues +100 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The St. Louis Blues and Arizona Coyotes meet Saturday in NHL action at the Gila River Arena.
The St. Louis Blues look for another victory after losing five of their last seven games. The St. Louis Blues are averaging three goals per game and are scoring on 24.1 percent of their power play opportunities. Ryan O'Reilly leads St. Louis with 12 goals, Vladimir Tarasenko has 11 assists and David Perron has 40 shots on goal. Defensively, the St. Louis Blues are allowing 3.3 goals per game and are killing 81.7 percent of their opponents power plays. Jake Allen has given up 55 goals on 521 shots faced and Chad Johnson has allowed 20 goals on 191 shots. The St. Louis Blues have allowed four or more goals in four of their last eight games.
The Arizona Coyotes could use another victory after losing five of their last eight games. The Arizona Coyotes are averaging 2.5 goals per game and are scoring on 15.6 percent of their power play opportunities. Clayton Keller leads Arizona with seven goals, Oliver Ekman-Larsson has 11 assists and Vinnie Hinostroza has 44 shots on goal. Defensively, the Arizona Coyotes are allowing 2.7 goals per game and are killing 89.5 percent of their opponents power plays. Darcy Kuemper has given up 29 goals on 338 shots faced and Antti Raanta has allowed 33 goals on 351 shots. The Arizona Coyotes have allowed three or more goals in five of their last eight games.
The Blues are 2-7 in their last 9 Saturday games, 1-5 in their last 6 road games and 0-5 in their last 5 games playing on 0 days rest. The Coyotes are 28-57 in their last 85 Saturday games, 28-77 in their last 105 vs. Central and 0-4 in their last 4 home games. The Blues are 9-1 in the last 10 meetings in Arizona and 21-7 in the last 28 meetings. The under is 8-3 in Blues last 11 overall. The under is 5-2 in Coyotes last 7 Saturday games.
The St. Louis Blues are probably the better team here and have owned the Coyotes over the years, so getting them at even money is a solid play. The problem is the Blues are in a bit of a funk right now and are on a quick turnaround after playing an overtime game last night. Also, the Arizona Coyotes have won the last two meetings against the Blues, outscoring them 11-2 during that span. The Coyotes should be favored here, and I'll take them on their home ice at the reasonable price.
