The Line: Arizona Coyotes +115 / Vegas Golden Knights -140 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Vegas Golden Knights and Arizona Coyotes meet Sunday in NHL action at the Gila River Arena.
The Vegas Golden Knights look for a spark of consistency after splitting their last eight games. The Vegas Golden Knights are averaging three goals per game and are scoring on 20.8 percent of their power play opportunities. William Karlsson leads Vegas with 14 goals, Reilly Smith has 18 assists and Jonathan Marchessault has 144 shots on goal. Defensively, the Vegas Golden Knights are allowing 2.8 goals per game and are killing 83.2 percent of their opponents power plays. Marc-Andre Fleury has given up 90 goals on 982 shots faced and Malcolm Subban has allowed 19 goals on 159 shots. The Vegas Golden Knights have allowed three or less goals in five of their last seven games.
The Arizona Coyotes look for another victory after splitting their last eight games. The Arizona Coyotes are averaging 2.5 goals per game and are scoring on 16.9 percent of their power play opportunities. Brad Richardson leads Arizona with 10 goals, Clayton Keller has 18 assists and Oliver Ekman-Larsson has 84 shots on goal. Defensively, the Arizona Coyotes are allowing 2.8 goals per game and are killing 87.7 percent of their opponents power plays. Darcy Kuemper has given up 46 goals on 521 shots faced and Antti Raanta has allowed 33 goals on 351 shots. The Arizona Coyotes have allowed three or more goals in seven of their last nine games.
The Golden Knights are 17-3 in their last 20 Sunday games, 35-16 in their last 51 vs. Pacific and 57-28 in their last 85 vs. Western Conference. The Coyotes are 2-8 in their last 10 home games, 11-25 in their last 36 games playing on 0 days rest and 3-8 in their last 11 overall. The Golden Knights are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings. The over is 4-1 in Coyotes last 5 games playing on 0 days rest. The over is 10-4-2 in Golden Knights last 16 overall.
The Vegas Golden Knights beat the hell out of the Los Angeles Kings last night and have allowed just two goals in their last nine periods. The Arizona Coyotes are starting to pick up some momentum here with wins in three of their last four games and have done a good job of finishing the tight games, winning three straight in overtime. The problem is both of these sides have had issues stringing wins together and it's been tough to get a strong read. The Coyotes are at home and are getting plus money. I'll take a shot with the home team based on the better payout.
