The Arizona Coyotes have followed a three game winning streak with consecutive defeats after a 5-3 loss to visiting San Jose on Saturday. Nick Schmaltz and Brad Richardson scored in the second for Arizona with Richard Panik lighting the lamp in the third. Adin Hill received the loss for the Coyotes with four goals on 32 shots to fall to 4-2-0.
The balanced San Jose offense featured scoring from Joe Pavelski, Logan Couture, Evander Kane, Lucas Radil and Tomas Hertl on the empty net. Timo Meier supplied two assists and Aaron Dell improved to 4-4-2 with a 17 save effort.
The Boston Bruins have yet to find the groove but might be on their way with back to back wins after outlasting Ottawa 2-1 in OT on Sunday. Mark Stone scored in the first for Ottawa with Colin White and Ben Harpur assisting. Mike McKenna fell to 1-1-1 for the Senators with both goals allowed on 44 shots.
Brad Marchand scored on the power play in the second period and Torey Krug netted the winner at 3:07 of the extra session. Krug also had an assist and Tuukka Rask got the win for the Bruins with a 27 save effort.
