The Boston Bruins welcome the Carolina Hurricanes to TD Arena for Saturday NHL action.
The Carolina Hurricanes have been one of the steadier teams the past few weeks and need that trend to continue with the ultimate goal being a spot in the postseason. Carolina has won seven of ten after knocking off the punchless Pittsburgh Penguins 4-0 on Thursday night.
Sebastian Aho led the Hurricanes attack with a pair of goals and an assist. Teuvo Teravainen and Jeff Skinner also found the back of the net while Brett Peace posted a pair of assists to help Cam Ward to his first shutout of the year with a 21 save performance while Matt Murray recorded 29 stops in defeat.
The Boston Bruins have been performing at a high level for weeks behind dominant performances at both ends of the ice. Boston has rattled off wins in seven of eight where they have outscored the opposition 30-6 in the wins. The Bruins come off of a 5-1 decision at the New York Islanders on Tuesday night to stay hot with Jordan Eberle scoring in the first period for the Islanders.
The balanced Bruins attack featured five different players scoring with Danton Heinan, Patrice Bergeron, Tim Schaller and Brad Marchand each lighting the lamp. Noel Acciri added an empty net tally and Tuukka Rask made 25 saves for Boston while Jaroslav Halak was charged with four goals on 37 shots for New York.
