The Boston Bruins welcome the Carolina Hurricanes to town in a Tuesday NHL tilt.

The surging Carolina Hurricanes have won five in a row after squeezing by Florida 4-3 in OT on the road Saturday. Henrik Borgstrom tallied twice for the Panthers with Mark Pysyk also lighting the lamp. Jamie McGinn posted two assists for Florida and Sam Montembeault allowed four goals on 26 shots.

Brock McGinn, Greg McKegg and Brett Pesce scored regulation goals for Carolina. Sebastian Aho scored in overtime for the Hurricanes tom make the 31 saves of Petr Mrazek a winning effort.

The Boston Bruins have racked up wins in ten of eleven after squeezing by visiting New Jersey 1-0 on Saturday. New Jersey struggled at the offensive end of the ice with just 20 shots and that made a loser of Mackenzie Blackwood who stopped 29 shots.

Brad Marchand lit the lamp at 2:37 of the first period off of assists from Patrice Bergeron and Jake DeBrusk. Tuukka Rask  picked up his third shutout of the season on the strength of 20 saves to keep the Bruins red hot.

Hurricanes are 4-1 in their last 5 games as an underdog and Hurricanes are 21-7 in their last 28 overall and Hurricanes are 6-2 in their last 8 vs. Eastern Conference.

Bruins are 10-1 in their last 11 overall and Bruins are 8-1 in their last 9 games following a win and Bruins are 6-1 in their last 7 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game.

Favorite is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings and home team is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings and over is 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings.

This is a lot of juice for two teams that are playing well so I’ll side with the Bruins and reduce the juice…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
