The Line: Boston Bruins / Columbus Blue Jackets --- Over/Under: 5.5
NHL action comes to TD Arena where the Columbus Blue Jackets visit the Boston Bruins.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have been on a tear with both ends of the ice contributing to their success. Columbus is trying to overtake Philadelphia for third in the Metropolitan and have been heading in that direction seven straight victories following a 2-1 win versus the Ottawa Senators.
The Senators took a 1-0 lead in the first on an Alexander Burrows at tally at the 12:16 mark before Boone Jenner scored the equalizer at 16:21. Markus Nutivaara scored the game winner in the second on the power play and Sergei Bobrovsky picked up the win for Columbus with 23 stops while Mike Condon stopped 33 shots in the loss.
The Boston Bruins return home from a 2-2 road trip as the team makes a push to chase down Atlantic leader Tampa Bay. Boston picked up two points in the standings with a 3-0 victory at the Lightning on Saturday and have a few weeks to make their move.
David Pastrnak opened the scoring for the Bruins at 3:07 of the first before David Backes doubled the advantage with a power play tally. Riley Nash lit the lamp on the man advantage in the second and Tuuka Rask stopped 23 shots for the win while Andrei Vasilevskiy gave up all three goals on 27 shots.
Blue Jackets are 6-0 in their last 6 games following a win and Blue Jackets are 6-0 in their last 6 games playing on 1 days rest and Blue Jackets are 7-0 in their last 7 overall. Bruins are 7-0 in their last 7 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and Bruins are 10-1 in their last 11 vs. Metropolitan and over is 6-1 in Bruins last 7 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. Over is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings and home team is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and Blue Jackets are 2-6 in the last 8 meetings in Boston.
Both teams have been lighting the lamp in this matchup so my lean pending goalies is over…
