The Line: Boston Bruins -145 / Dallas Stars +131 --- Over/Under: 5.5
NHL action comes to TD Garden where the Boston Bruins host the Dallas Stars on Monday.
The Dallas Stars have been playing well over the past several weeks with wins in six of nine but more is needed with the team sitting in 5th place in the Central. Both ends of the ice have been contributing to that success although both struggled last time out in a 4-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche where Jaimie Benn provide all the offense with his second period tally.
The balanced Colorado offense received goals Alexander Kerfoot, Nathan MacKinnon, Blake Comeau and Mark Barberio on the empty net. Nikita Zadorov added a pair of helpers and Jonathan Bernier gave the Avalanche 27 saves while Ben Bishop recorded 19 stops in defeat.
The surging Boston Bruins are second in the Atlantic and have shown no signs of slowing with wins in eight of ten where the team have received contributions in all areas. Boston comes in off of a 4-3, shootout win at the Montreal Canadiens. Max Pacioretty, Nicolas Deslauriersand Alex Galchenyuk scored for the Habs with Carey Price stopping 29 shots.
The Bruins scoring came off the sticks of Brad Marchand, Jake DeBrusk and David Krejci in regulation with Marchand scoring in round four of the shootout to secure the two points. Charlie McAvoy gave Boston two assists and Tuukka Rask recorded 27 saves to get the win.
Stars are 6-1 in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest and over is 5-1 in Stars last 6 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and over is 5-1 in Stars last 6 games playing on 1 days rest. Over is 3-0-1 in Bruins last 4 overall and over is 4-0-1 in Bruins last 5 games following a win and over is 3-0-1 in Bruins last 4 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. Road team is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings and over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and over is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings in Boston.
The trends heavily favor the over so I lean the hot home squad or the over pending goalies…
