The Bruins and Red Wings meet up in Boston on Thursday night in one of the biggest games of the entire NHL regular season.
The Detroit Red Wings head into the TD Garden on Thursday night for a show down with the Boston Bruins in a game that could very well decide the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. The Wings head into this one coming off a 3-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers which has them two points clear of the B’s in the Atlantic division standings and puts Detroit on the inside track to lock up yet another postseason appearance. The Wings have two games remaining and if they can get a victory here and leave the Bruins without any points it will make things very clear and could very well leave the Bruins on the outs for another season. The Wings are likely to stick with Jimmy Howard here as he will face off against Tuukka Rask who will look for some stronger play in front of him as the B’s have been sloppy of late.
The Bruins have really fallen off but still remain in the hunt and if they’re going to make a push it absolutely must come tonight at home against the Wings. Boston fell apart down the stretch last season and missed the playoffs and run the risk of doing the same again this year as a loss to the Hurricanes in their last outing currently has them on the outside looking in with only two games remaining. The Bruins have been a very good team on the road this season but they need to step it up at home tonight if they’re going to make a push and while this should be a very exciting game I do think the home side keep their season alive. Take the Bruins here in a close one.
