Boston Bruins -175; O/U: 5.5
The Boston Bruins look to win their 5th game in a row as they welcome the Minnesota Wild to the TD Garden on Tuesday night.
The Wild look to build on their shutout victory in Montreal last night as they continue their road trip in Boston on Tuesday as they face off against a Bruins team who is red hot right now and is looking like a threat in the Eastern Conference. Minnesota has had success playing against the Atlantic division as their win last night moved them to a 30-11 mark in their last 41 contests and they can inflate those numbers even more with an encore here against the Bruins as a sizeable underdog. Minnesota has been up and down so far this season but they have had a ton of success playing in Boston as they are 8-3 in their last 11 trips to the TD Garden, and while the B’s have won 5 of the last 7 matchups between these two sides the trends do give the Wild a shot here on the road.
The Bruins meanwhile have gone on a 6-0 stretch against foes from the Western Conference and they play at their best when they have had ample time to rest as they are an impressive 20-6 in their last 26 contests when playing on two days of rest. Boston has one of the league’s best lines in Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak, and Brad Marchand and with the depth they have across the board it makes them a very tough matchup for almost anybody in the league and while they are significantly behind the division leading Lightning they are still in a playoff spot sitting three points up on the Canadiens for third place in the Atlantic. Boston is 40-15 in their last 55 home games and are 19-7 in their last 26 Tuesday games which bodes well for them here against a Minnesota team who is certainly playing on tired legs.
The Wild are 2-5 in their last 7 meetings with the Bruins and have hit the Over in 5 of their last 6 against the Atlantic while the Bruins are 4-0 in their last 4 games overall and have hit the over in 7 of their last 9 home games. Minny will be gassed in this spot and with Alex Stalock in goal for them this one looks like it will feature plenty of scoring in a game that goes over the number.
