The Montreal Canadiens take the ice at the Boston Bruins in a Monday NHL bout.

The Montreal Canadiens have won two of three after downing visiting Colorado 3-0 on Saturday. The Avalanche were unable to get anything going at the offensive end of the ice and Semyon Varlamov allowed two goals on 28 shots to get the loss.

Montreal did all their scoring in the third period with Brett Kulak, Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Jordie Benn lighting the lamp. Phillip Danault gave the Canadiens two helpers and Carey Price picked up the win with a 28 save performance.

The Boston Bruins have been at the top of their game with wins in six of seven after downing Toronto 3-2 on the road Saturday. Andreas Johnsson and Mitch Marner scored second period goals for Toronto. Kasperi Kapanen added a pair of helpers and Michael Hutchinson took the loss for the Maple Leafs with three goals allowed on 29 shots. 

The Bruins received scoring off the sticks of David Krejci, Sean Kuraly and David Pastrnak. Kuraly also assisted twice for the Bruins while Tuukka Rask picked up the win with 30 stops.
