Thursday NHL action pits the New Jersey Devils at the Boston Bruins.
The New Jersey Devils have been struggling to score of late which has led to losses in four of five after a 3-0 defeat to visiting Columbus on Sunday. New Jersey ran in to a hot goalie with Keith Kinkaid allowing three goals on eleven shots before Mackenzie Blackwood stopped nine shots in relief.
Cam Atkinson and Oliver Bjorkstrand scored first period goals for Columbus with Artemi Panarin scoring in the second. Panarrin also had an assist and Sergei Bobrovsky brushed aside 39 shots to get the win for the Blue Jackets.
The Boston Bruins have been playing well but saw their defense falter in a 5-3 loss at Carolina on Sunday to end a three game winning streak. Ryan Donato led the Bruins attack with a pair of markers with Steven Kampfer also finding the back of the net. Brad Marchand assisted twice and Tuukka Rask gave up five goals on 37 shots to get the loss.
The Hurrricanes received a pair of goals from Teuvo Terevainen and Sebastian Aho with Justin Faulk joining the scoring column. Aho and Teravainen added a pair of helpers each and Petr Mrazek recorded 27 saves to pick up the win for Carolina.
