The red hot New York Rangers head into the TD Garden looking for an Original Six victory against the Boston Bruins on Saturday night.
The Rangers are off to a blistering start and will look for a key road victory against the Boston Bruins in what should be one of the best matchups of the day on a jam packed Saturday. The Blue Shirts have a very deep roster and should once again challenge for the Metro division crown and should be in a position come playoff time to make a run at the Cup if they can stay healthy and Henrik Lundqvist continues to be one of the best goalies in the league. New York is 8-3 so far this season but are just 1-2 in their three road games so this will be a big test for them as they take on a Bruins side that is 6-4 to start the season and looking like a contender in the Atlantic division.
The Bruins look for just their second victory of the season at the TD Garden this season as most of their success has come on the road and what better way to do so than a big time matchup against the New York Rangers. Boston is expected to start Tuukka Rask in this one who has dealt with some early season absences and he will match up against Rangers backup Antii Raanta who will give King Henrik the night off, but Raanta is more than capable of earning a victory as he is one of the better backups in the NHL and plays in a system that caters to a strong defensive effort.
The Rangers are 6-1 in their last seven overall and 4-1 in their last five against the Atlantic while the B’s are 2-5 in their last seven home games and 46-20 in their last 66 Saturday games. The Rangers are playing the better hockey and even with Raanta starting I think New York gets it done again the Bruins in Boston.
