The Pittsburgh Penguins are looking for back to back wins after a 5-1 win versus Dallas ended a four game slide. Roope Hintz broke up the shutout for Dallas with a third period tally with Anton Khudobin allowing five goals on 16 shots before Landon Bow stopped 14 shots in relief.
Jake Guentzel, Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby, Patric Hornqvist and Tanner Pearson all reached the scoring column for the Penguins. Crosby completed a three point night with two assists while Pittsburgh saw Casey DeSmith get the win with 18 saves.
The Boston Bruins squandered a pair of leads which came back to haunt them in a 3- 2 OT loss at Detroit on Wednesday. Jacob Forsbacka gave Boston a 1-0 lead in the first and Chris Wagner tallied in the second for a 2-1 advantage. Tuukka Rask recorded 24 saves for the Bruins to salvage a point.
Tyler Bertuzzi and Andreas Athanasiou scored in regulation for the Red Wings with Athanasiou netting his second just 49 seconds in to the extra session. Jimmy Howard secured the two points for Detroit with a 34 save performance.
